01 Sep Creativity as a growth driver
“Investors who understand that creativity is an asset will outperform,” says Johan Brand, the Norwegian entrepreneur who co-founded and built the game-based educational platform Kahoot! into a cultural phenomenon, that now reaches 100 million monthly active users.
Design and creativity, Brand underlines, can and should be used by all types of companies as a strategy to inspire new ideas, guide processes, and drive growth. “We’re not just talking about art on a wall,” he says.
CreativeTech companies span traditional industries, from education to marketing, and use AR, VR, IoT and other technologies to scale their businesses. They combine the digital and physical world in new ways by creating immersive, personalized and multi-sensory experiences.
Although CreativeTech is growing worldwide, it has not drawn the same level of investment as FinTech, PropTech and other niches in Norway.
“Creative people exist here, but Norway hasn’t begun to unlock the full potential of CreativeTech,” says Brand who is now injecting the power of engagement and serendipity into his latest ventureEntrepreneurShipOne through his creative venture firm, We Are Human.
When asked if now is the right time to back CreativeTech, Brand responds adamantly: “If not now, then when?”
If Norwegian investors want to get in on the untapped potential of CreativeTech, now is the time.
